The STAR CHAPTER FOUNDATION, INC, is a not for profit 501c3 organization that was created to provide scholarships for tertiary education and sponsor activities which help to uplift underserved communities in the greater Cincinnati area.
The foundation has two primary goals associated with the delivery of this purpose:
• To create a $1,000,000 endowment for scholarships geared toward local high school students.
• To provide an avenue for financial assistance for education, uplift for the community well-being and facilities for the purpose of meetings, community activities and events.
Overview of Scholarship
As a mechanism to deliver against this purpose and these stated goals, we are proudly presenting the annual Rising Stars Scholarship program. The Rising Stars Scholarship program focuses on:
1. Developing and growing high school seniors into quality citizens in their community.
2. Supporting high school seniors as they pursue educational advancement via higher education.
3. Providing access to a vetted and qualified pool of diverse talent across academic areas to potential employers.
4. Supporting the goals of sustainability via the creation of the $1,000,000 endowment.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria
We are dedicated to supporting individuals pursuing both their undergraduate and graduate studies as well as building outstanding citizens of the community.
We have two sets of criteria:
High School Senior
The high school student minimum criteria for applying for our annual scholarships:
1. Overall grade point average of 3.00 or higher (4.0 scale unweighted)
2. Strong commitment to continual education
3. Community activity/involvement including community service with the foundation
4. Two letters of recommendation on official letterhead
5. Official high school transcript/Copies of ACT/SAT scores
6. Financial need
7. Graduate of the current academic year or entering collegiate freshman
8. Strict adherence to ALL deadlines
Graduate Student
The graduate student minimum criteria for applying for our annual scholarship:
1. Degree from an accredited college/university
2. Strong commitment to continual education
3. Community activity/involvement including community service with the foundation
4. Two letters of recommendation on official letterhead
5. Official college/university transcript
6. Financial need
7. Strict adherence to ALL deadlines
The deadline for submitting all application materials is December 31, 2023. The complete application packet must be submitted electronically using this form.
All supporting materials, including two letters of recommendation and official transcript/copies of ACT/SAT scores must be sent via email to: [email protected].
Scholarship finalists will be selected via careful screening of the application packet. All finalists will be contacted via phone and/or email for a mandatory interview (tentatively scheduled for the first week of February 2024).
The 2023-2024 Rising Star Scholarship recipient(s) will exemplify excellence in maturity, citizenship, scholastic ability, and leadership. It is the recipient(s) responsibility to provide The STAR Chapter scholarship committee with official proof of college enrollment before any monies are released.
